Wool Shirts: Soft and Luxurious

What type of clothing we wear is in direct relation to what the weather is like outside most of the time. Of course personal style also plays a big role, but we definitely don't wear a heavy sweater when it's warm and a short sleeved shirt won't cut it on a cold day.

Whether we like it or not, during cold weather we have to layer it up to stay warm. However, some types of clothing actually keep in enough warmth so that you don't have to wear so much. Wool shirts are a perfect example of this.

Wool is a very warm material. Obviously it works to keep sheep warm living outside through the winter, so it is no wonder that people started to wear it as well and have been doing so for centuries in winter weather!

You may think to yourself that a wool shirt would be scratchy on your skin, but this does not have to be the case. There are some kinds of wool that are extremely soft and luxurious but still keep in the warmth and still feel smooth and silky on the skin.

One of the softest type of sheep wool is merino wool, which comes from merino sheep. This is so soft that it is used in long underwear, which is the closest thing you wear to your skin when you think about it. Even softer than this, though, is goat wool called cashmere. This is such a wonderfully soft material that it has been worn by royalty for ages. Of course this type of wool comes at a higher price tag.

Wool shirts look very classy and come in all styles. Whether or not you are talking about dress shirts to be worn to business meetings or formal occasions, to patterned casual shirts for more relaxed environments, you can find wool shirts for any situation.

Sometimes you fall in love with a shirt and you wear it so often that it begins to show signs of wear around the cuffs or neck. This can be very disappointing, especially if that same shirt is no longer available to buy. Wool is such a durable fabric that your wool shirts will stay looking great for years and years.

You can find wool shirts in bright colors, as wool holds dye very well. It is also quite resistant to wrinkles and repels dirt and stains. Wow, that's amazing! The advantage to this is that it needs to be washed much less often than cotton and other materials.

Speaking of washing, some wool can only be dry cleaned, but many wool shirts can be washed in cold water by hand and dried laying flat or some types of wool shirts can even be machine washed, which makes them that much easier and comfortable to use.

For a warm, durable, great looking shirt that will last you a long time, look at those made of wool. You can find some that perfectly suit your personal sense of style, matching your wardrobe, and feel soft and great against your skin. Everyone's closet should have at least one wool shirt!
